The Bark River Gunny Hunter LT is a more compact version of the Bravo 1. Originally this knife was designed for (para)military use. Soon, however, it became clear that this knife was capable of a whole lot more. Today the Gunny is a popular knife among bushcraft enthusiasts and hunters. It is solidly constructed, with enough blade thickness for more demanding tasks. At the same time, it's lightweight enough to take with you on hikes. This is an ideal knife that can be used for many purposes. This special Hunter version of the Gunny has a sabre grind. This means the grind is different from the regular Gunny. The Hunter is slightly thinner behind the edge and therefore better suited for camping and hunting. The Gunny Hunter also doesn't have jimping or a thumb ramp. In addition, this is the LT version. This means that the blade is slightly thinner.
The blade is made from CPM 3V steel, a tool steel that is known for its exceptional strength. It is very hard to break, and also retains its sharpness well. You do, however, need to be careful with moisture and acids: CPM 3V is not completely stainless. Make sure to clean the knife after use and occasionally apply a drop of oil to keep it in great shape. The edge has a convex grind that can be maintained by stropping it.
The handle is made of canvas micarta, which is a strong and lightweight material made from linen and synthetic resin. It feels comfortable in hand, even in wet or cold conditions.
The Bark River Gunny Hunter LT comes with a leather belt sheath.
Bark River Knives makes all of its knives almost entirely by hand. This means that each knife is unique. Especially when working with natural materials, a knife may differ from the photos. North River Outdoors offers free shipping for purchases of $99 and over within the United States (some oversized items may incur charges). We strive to ship in-stock orders within 24-48 hours, often the same day if placed before 5 PM Eastern Time. Standard free shipping typically arrives via UPS or USPS within 3-6 business days. We currently ship to the USA at this time. You can track your order status by logging into "My Account" on our website.
What is your return and exchange policy?
We offer a 60-day return policy for unopened and unused items, for a 100% refund. Items must be returned in the same (or similar) condition in which they were received. Opened, used, or damaged products, or those not following our return policy, may be subject to a 15% restocking fee. We reserve the right to refuse returns in non-sellable condition. Customers are responsible for return shipping costs.

Do you offer any services like knife sharpening or gear repair?
Yes! We offer a range of services at our Virginia store, including knife sharpening, axe sharpening and rehandling, knife/axe cleaning and conditioning, and waxed canvas bag/pack waxing and conditioning. We also provide laser engraving. Drop-off for services is available Monday-Saturday, with a typical turnaround of 1-2 business days.
